KARE KARE! ALL TIME FAVE!

I love Kare-Kare! It's a meat vegetable stew with peanut sauce and Kare-Kare is NOT without bagoong well for some :P because most of the time I eat Kare-Kare without it. Bagoong is a shrimp or fish paste.

Best Kare-Kare I've tried out of our kitchen is from Max's (The house that fried chicken built).

AND

Here's the Kare-Kare recipe:

1/2 kilo beef (round or sirloin cut) cut into cubes (for a more traditional kare kare, use cleaned beef tripe instead of beef)
1/2 kilo oxtail, cut 2 inch long
3 cups of peanut butter
1/4 cup grounded toasted rice
1/2 cup cooked bagoong alamang (anchovies)
2 pieces onions, diced
2 heads of garlic, minced
4 tablespoons atsuete oil
4 pieces eggplant, sliced 1 inch thick
1 bundle Pechay (Bok choy) cut into 2 pieces
1 bundle of sitaw (string beans) cut to 2" long
1 banana bud, cut similar to eggplant slices, blanch in boiling water
1/2 cup oil
8 cups of water
Salt to taste

METHOD

1. In a stock pot, boil beef and oxtails in water for an hour or until cooked. Strain and keep the stock.

2. Heat oil and atsuete oil in a big pan or wok.

3. Sauté garlic, onions until golden brown, then add the stock, toasted rice, beef, oxtail and peanut butter. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Salt to taste.

4. Add the eggplant, string beans, pechay and banana bud. Cook the vegetables for a few minutes. Do not overcook the vegetables.

5. You can have the option to serve with bagoong on the side and hot plain rice.

BUT I like Mom's recipe than this, I'm just too lazy to write it down as of the moment. But if you ask me, I can give it to you. Just not today. :)

Krispy Kreme!

Who doesn't love Krispy Kreme??? I know Krispy Kreme is everywhere but I can't resist to post it on this site as how I can't resist buying their doughnuts. I just love their donuts! Yes they are soooo sweet, but guys, don't eat a lot. One Krispy Kreme doughnut a day is more than enough.

I love the Hershey's cookies & kreme, Chocolate Iced Custard Filled, Peanut butter & kreme and their new flavor "Chocolate creations with Toblerone."

Super Bowl of China

I'm not really sure if they serve authentic Chinese food. But I will definitely recommend the Honey-Glazed Pork Ribs, Lemon Chicken and our favorite Yang-Chow Fried rice.

Cozy place to eat although sometimes it's too crowded and tables and seats are like inches apart, especially the branch in Trinoma, Quezon City.

Here's their website if you want to check on their menu --> http://www.superbowl.com.ph

Racks rock!!!

Since I was a kid I have been seeing Racks and been curious about what they serve. Of course when you're a kid, a Jollibee or McDonald's treat will be very satisfying although I know my family could have dined in to Racks but I think that is because my Dad is not really into Racks kind of restaurant. And since I have been exploring the metro for food adventure, I was able to try Racks finally lol. So for my 1st time I was with my friend, we went to Racks Greenhills and he tried baby back ribs and lamey me I only had their spaghetti and chicken (Exploring huh?) but their spaghetti is YUMYUM, a mix of american and italian style! On my 2nd, it was my birthday celebration and I was with my other friends and we went to Racks El Pueblo and this time we tried their Family Chicken Platter, well it sounds just a normal meal but this time we had our chicken roasted and it's really delicious and it came with baked beans and coleslaw. Baked beans became my instant fave, a bit spicy and I love it. Aside from their great food, ambience is nice, kind of dimmed because of the yellow ligthing but bright enough to eat, cozy tables and seats too. Racks is definitely a recommended place for family or friends to dine together.

And by the way, according to my friend and what I've been hearing, they really have the best ribs in town! ;)
Next time. I'll definitely try it.

It's been a long time

Yes it has, since the last time I posted a blog. Well work pressure, and lots of stuff have been having me occupied especially health. Due to so much eating they found stones in my gallbladder but that doesn't stop me!!!! And I'll start posting new entries today. :D -stubborn

Lemon Tree Inn

I was searching for a cheap hotel in Quezon City over the internet and I found Lemon Tree Inn.
Lemon Tree Inn is located in Sct. Magbanua street along Quezon Ave. in front of Capitol Medical Center.

They have their ongoing promo rates where you can avail of the Deluxe room for only Php 2000.00 with breakfast for 2 persons. Normal price of Deluxe room is Php 3499.00.

All of their rooms have lcd tv, personal refrigerator, vault, and microwave.

Their room is great and for the price of 2000 pesos it's really worth it.
Plus, their breakfast is courtesy of Figaro.

They also have wifi access and they are selling the password for Php100 with 24 hrs access.
But you can also use the computer they have in the lobby to surf the internet for free.

I talked to their receptionist and I told them that the only thing that's missing is a pool and she said that most of their guests suggest that they should have one.

If you want to book at Lemon Tree Inn, here is their website http://www.lemontreeinn.com.ph/.

BLOG TEMPLATE CHANGED

For some reason my blog template has changed. I'm using a software to design my template but some widgets that I add on my blog doesn't show using the templates I designed. So I'll use this black template from blogger for the mean time until I figure things out. I really don't know how to design a template manually, please bear with me. Thanks :)
