Toycon 2011 (June 18, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong, Philippines)

It was a very exciting and fun day! I never thought that I would be enjoying this kind of event. Before, when I was seeing people do cosplay I find them weird and I really hated it (cosplay) but I just realized it's really fun to cosplay and I even want to do it on the next cosplay event here in Manila.

My sister and cousin played as members of the delta team from USS (Umbrella Security Service). If you're playing Resident Evil then you should know them. And on the next cosplay event I want to play HUNK, he's also part of th RE USS but I want to play the mercenaries 3d version of him.

There were a lot of cosplayers that day and it got to a point that i felt dizzy already because there was no enough space to move in to and everyone was already bumping into each other.

But overall I really had fun and I really want to cosplay soon because when you are doing it, it's like you're a celebrity, a lot of people will ask to take a picture of you or to take picture with you (I'm a bit of a frustrated celebrity lol).

So see you on the next cosplay event!

Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria

Pasta and pizza, can't get enough of them. If time comes that I would only have pasta and pizza everyday I surely won't get tired of it. Doesn't matter how cheap or expensive.

One of the resto's in my list is Joey Pepperoni. It was my boss from my previous life (Career life.lol) who introduced Joey Pepperoni to me. She loves pasta and pizza too.

They also have sampler combos like chef de angelo and chef donatelo. Good thing about Joey Pepperoni and like some pasta and pizza resto, they are not really pricey and tastes great too. I'm not sure if they are italian or american style but it doesn't matter as long as I love their food. :D

ENCHANTED KINGDOM!

I was never a fan of carnival or theme parks but I decided to join my workmates on their trip to Enchanted Kingdom. I'm really scared of those roller coaster loops, had a phobia with their haunted house booths, and I thought I'm not going to have fun at Enchanted Kingdom. But I surely DID! :P

Funny the first booth we tried was the 4D theater and that time the featured film was Dora the explorer! Haha I know but we just enjoyed it like those kids who were with us in the room.

And after that they started to talk about going to Space shuttle! And I freezed for a bit because it's the most frightening ride for me... I was thinking of not joining them but I'm scared that they might tease me... In my mind I was thinking of what should I do to prevent them from going to that ride... but then when we were approaching space shuttle and all of them just went straight to it, I just started to pray. lol SURPRISINGLY after the ride and eventhough I felt a bit dizzy I shouted and I said I LOVED IT! haha Crazy but I did enjoy it although I was trembling because it was too intense but I really did enjoy it and after that I starved! lol My energy got drained by space shuttle!

After that we ate, had lunch and just strolled through the park. Went to some souvenir shops.
I already got tired because of space shuttle and it was only my 2nd ride that day. Then some of them tried anchors away and that one I really refused, I heard a lot of negative feedbacks about that ride. Then after we went to Rio Grande Rapids. I enjoyed rio grande rapids but I got wet! There was this part where we needed to pass through a waterfalls and I was even telling the girl in front of me that she will get wet due to that falls but then that large life-saver-like thing spinned and I'm the one who got hit by that waterfalls. Grrrr

Eventhough I was only able to try 3 attractions I really had fun. I hope I will be able to go back but I'm not sure if I will do space shuttle again. haha I know I said I loved it, but I guess that was due to the feeling of relief after that extreme roller coaster ride. I really liked rio grande rapids, but I need to bring couple of pair of clothes if I will keep on riding that thing again and again.

KARE KARE! ALL TIME FAVE!

I love Kare-Kare! It's a meat vegetable stew with peanut sauce and Kare-Kare is NOT without bagoong well for some :P because most of the time I eat Kare-Kare without it. Bagoong is a shrimp or fish paste.

Best Kare-Kare I've tried out of our kitchen is from Max's (The house that fried chicken built).

Max's website -->http://www.maxschicken.com

AND

Here's the Kare-Kare recipe:

1/2 kilo beef (round or sirloin cut) cut into cubes (for a more traditional kare kare, use cleaned beef tripe instead of beef)
1/2 kilo oxtail, cut 2 inch long
3 cups of peanut butter
1/4 cup grounded toasted rice
1/2 cup cooked bagoong alamang (anchovies)
2 pieces onions, diced
2 heads of garlic, minced
4 tablespoons atsuete oil
4 pieces eggplant, sliced 1 inch thick
1 bundle Pechay (Bok choy) cut into 2 pieces
1 bundle of sitaw (string beans) cut to 2" long
1 banana bud, cut similar to eggplant slices, blanch in boiling water
1/2 cup oil
8 cups of water
Salt to taste

METHOD

1. In a stock pot, boil beef and oxtails in water for an hour or until cooked. Strain and keep the stock.

2. Heat oil and atsuete oil in a big pan or wok.

3. Sauté garlic, onions until golden brown, then add the stock, toasted rice, beef, oxtail and peanut butter. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Salt to taste.

4. Add the eggplant, string beans, pechay and banana bud. Cook the vegetables for a few minutes. Do not overcook the vegetables.

5. You can have the option to serve with bagoong on the side and hot plain rice.

BUT I like Mom's recipe than this, I'm just too lazy to write it down as of the moment. But if you ask me, I can give it to you. Just not today. :)

Krispy Kreme!

Who doesn't love Krispy Kreme??? I know Krispy Kreme is everywhere but I can't resist to post it on this site as how I can't resist buying their doughnuts. I just love their donuts! Yes they are soooo sweet, but guys, don't eat a lot. One Krispy Kreme doughnut a day is more than enough.

I love the Hershey's cookies & kreme, Chocolate Iced Custard Filled, Peanut butter & kreme and their new flavor "Chocolate creations with Toblerone."

Super Bowl of China

I'm not really sure if they serve authentic Chinese food. But I will definitely recommend the Honey-Glazed Pork Ribs, Lemon Chicken and our favorite Yang-Chow Fried rice.

Cozy place to eat although sometimes it's too crowded and tables and seats are like inches apart, especially the branch in Trinoma, Quezon City.

Here's their website if you want to check on their menu --> http://www.superbowl.com.ph
